We shipped offline mode for Fieldnote. Field researchers work where signal doesn't reach: a forest transect, a village survey site. Until now, a dead connection meant carrying paper and typing notes up later. With offline mode, you write notes and take photos with GPS tags, and Fieldnote stores them on your phone. The app syncs them once your phone reconnects. Offline mode was the most requested feature in our 2025 user survey, which drew 612 responses. Four of us built it over three months, and we tested it on the kind of connections you deal with in the field. Offline mode is live on iOS and Android, and the free plan includes it.
