Carte Blanche runs carteblanche.com. This page explains what we collect and what we do with it. You don’t need an account to browse or download skills, and we don’t run analytics or advertising trackers.

What we collect

  • If you ask to be notified: your email address, when you signed up, and the wording you agreed to. We use it to send you one email when paid skills and agent connections are live.
  • If you apply to list a skill: your name, email address, the link you send, your message, your confirmation that you wrote the skill or have the right to sell it, and when you applied. We use it to review your skill and reply to you.
  • When you visit any page: your IP address, the page you asked for and your browser type appear in our server logs, and form submissions leave a short-lived record we use to stop spam.

We set one cookie, which protects our forms against cross-site attacks. Our security provider may set its own cookie to tell people from bots. Neither is used for tracking.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t add you to a newsletter. The notify list gets one email, and then we delete it.

Who else handles it

  • Our hosting provider runs the site and its database in the United States.
  • A security and network provider sits in front of the site, so your requests pass through it.
  • Encrypted database backups are kept with a storage provider for 14 days.

How long we keep it

  • Notify-me emails: until we’ve sent the one email, then we delete them.
  • Creator applications: while we’re discussing a listing with you, and no more than 12 months after our last contact.
  • Server logs and spam-prevention records: 30 days.
  • Backups roll over every 14 days, so anything we delete is gone from backups within 15 days.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete what we hold about you. Email privacy@carteblanche.com and we’ll do it within 30 days. If you’re in the EU or UK, we rely on your consent for the notify list and on our legitimate interest in replying to applications and keeping the site secure. You can withdraw consent at any time, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Carte Blanche isn’t aimed at children under 16.

Changes

If this page changes, we’ll update the date at the top. Before we add accounts or payments, we’ll rewrite it and say so on the site.
