Same request, same model, once with the skill and once without. Read both and judge for yourself.

“Explain to a new engineer why our service retries failed webhook deliveries with exponential backoff. Two short paragraphs.”

with the skill
Our service retries failed webhook deliveries because the receiving server may recover from a brief outage or overload. Retrying lets us deliver the event without asking the sender to submit it again. We retry failures that may clear up, such as timeouts or certain server errors. With exponential backoff, we increase the wait between attempts, for example from 1 second to 2, then 4, then 8. We give the receiver time to recover and avoid overwhelming it with repeated requests. We cap the delay and the number of attempts so we don’t retry forever.
without
Webhook deliveries can fail temporarily because a receiver is overloaded, restarting, or experiencing network problems. Retrying gives the event another chance to arrive without requiring manual intervention—but retrying immediately and repeatedly can make the problem worse. Exponential backoff increases the delay between attempts—for example, 1 second, 2 seconds, 4 seconds, and so on, up to a limit. This gives the receiver time to recover and reduces unnecessary traffic. Adding a little randomness (“jitter”) also keeps many failed deliveries from retrying at exactly the same time.

Answers are shown exactly as the model wrote them, from the first try, and nothing is picked by hand.
